Helen Charlene (Haucke) Huston formerly of Americus, died on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona where she had been living the past five years. She was 90.

Helen was born on December 5, 1926 in Council Grove, Kansas, the only child of Charles and Sylvia (Porter) Haucke of Dunlap, Kansas.

Helen attended Dunlap Elementary and High School graduation in 1944. She later attended the College of Emporia for a short time before her marriage to Willis on December 25, 1944. They spent their married life of 67 years living on a farm north of Americus.

She was active in carious clubs and organizations all of her adult life. Some of those organizations were the H.M.S. Club, 40 Farmerettes, and the KLA Cowbells. She was a member of the Americus Presbyterian Church. She and Willis loved to travel and took may trips with friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her husband who passed away May 14, 2012 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and baby daughter Lynda Huston.

Surviving family members include: sons, Steven (Jan) Huston of Maricopa, AZ, Randall (Marsha) Huston of Lenexa, KS, and Harold (Kay) Huston of Billings, MT; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Americus Cemetery, Americus. Memorial contributions to the Emporia Friends of the Zoo or Salvation Army can be sent in care of the funeral home.
