Helen Marie Klostermann, 84, of Emporia, Kansas, died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
Helen was born on November 5, 1928 in Hartford, Kansas, the daughter of Henry Otto and Grace Gardner Klostermann.
She is survived by her first cousins and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant twin sister.
Helen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Emporia State Teachers College and then worked for Prudential for about ten years. She later went back to school and received her Master’s in Library Science. Helen was a librarian for thirty-three and a half years at Emporia State University.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Flint Hills China Painters, American Library Association, Kansas Library Association, and American Association of University Women.
Cremation is planned, with a private service at a later date. A memorial has been established with the Hartford Public Library; contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
