Ingeborg May, 72, Emporia, Kansas, passed away October 21, 2011, at Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia, Kansas
Ingeborg Martin was born April 17, 1939 at Freiburg, Germany, the daughter of Fritz and Anna Rüde Martin. She married Karlton Mac May at Wolfgang, Germany, December 12, 1963. He died September 13, 1997 at Topeka, Kansas.
Surviving family members include a daughter, Dr. Sabina R. Haag, DDS, Newton, Kansas; sons, CW 4 Norman G. May, Walters, Oklahoma, and Dr. Karl L. May, DC, Clearwater, Kansas; brother, Horst Martin, Singen, Germany; sister, Gertrude Martin Kaiser, Unteralpfen, Germany; and grandchildren, Kimberly May-Self, Kristen May, Nicholas May, Parker May, Jacob Haag, Colton Haag, Brody May, and Josie Haag. Also, her companion of 12 years, Marvin Emley, Reading, Kansas, survives. She was expecting her first great-grandchild in Novermber.
She was a licensed day care provider for 48 years, retiring five months ago. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, VFW Post #1980 Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, Flint Hills Community Health Center, H. Dale Buck Animal Fund, Miriam Chapter #14, Order of the Eastern Star, The VFW National Home for Children in Michigan, and the All Veterans Tribute Planning Committee.
Funeral services will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10:00 AM. The service will be conducted by Pastor Lee Hoskins. A graveside service will follow at the Post Cemetery, Fort Riley, Kansas later that day at 1:00 PM.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 6 PM to 8 PM.
