Jack Lee Taylor, 80, of Lake Kahola, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at his home and went on to his Lord and Savior.

Jack was born on May 18, 1935 in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Owen Cecil and Vesta Saffer Taylor. He married Joan Markley in 1956 in Emporia and later divorced. Jack later married Donna Marie Perry on September 18, 1971 at the First Congregational Church in Emporia. She survives.

Other surviving family members include: son, Ryan LaMar Taylor and wife, LeeAnn; daughters, Tanya DeNee Winter and husband, Pat of Wichita, Kansas, and Shara Tawn Picolet of Lake Kahola; and grandchildren, Madison Winter, Parker Winter, Jordyn Picolet, Jadyn Picolet, Treyton Taylor, Caden Taylor, Macelyn Taylor, and Reegan Taylor.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Jack was a businessman and salesman in Emporia for 44 years, working at Didde Office Supply, being a part-owner in Emporia Plumbing and Heating, and he also owned Taylor Appliance. He worked for Winter Furniture prior to retirement.

Jack was in the United States Army, and was an original member of the Lake Kahola Board, working with the City of Emporia. Jack helped form and was active in the Emporia Downtown Association. He also was instrumental in developing the first Industrial Park in Emporia. Jack was a loving family man and enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors.

Cremation is planned, with a celebration of life service at 1:00 P.M, Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the Taylor Home, 154 Kahola Road, Council Grove, Kansas.
