Jacqueline "Jackie" Robidou

Jacqueline (Jackie) Robidou (70) Americus, Kansas, passed away in her home Thursday, June 21, 2012.

The daughter of David and Nellie Wilson Simmons, she was born December 3, 1941 in Birmingham, England. She immigrated to the USA on July 4, 1959, and married Frank L. Robidou in the St. Rose Catholic Church in Council Grove, Kansas, October 15, 1960. In 2002, she retired after 23 years of working at the Americus Grade School.

As wife and homemaker, she is survived by her husband, Frank of the home; a son Rick and his wife Rhonda of Americus; her daughter, Laurie and her husband Dr. Wade Turner of Winfield, Kansas; and her youngest son, Brad and his wife Vicki of Salina, Kansas. She has eight grandchildren, and is expecting her first great-grandchild in October. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Watkins of Claycomo, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, Kansas, with Father Richard Warsnak, Celebrant. A graveside service will be held in the Calvary Cemetery, Council Grove, Kansas at 2:00 P.M. that afternoon.

The Rosary will be recited at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, at 6:30 P.M. Monday, June 25, 2012. The family will receive friends following the Rosary.

The casket will be open at the funeral home through Monday evening, but will be closed Tuesday.
