Jacquelyn Wamser, 99, of Denver, Colorado died September 5, 2010 at Apple Ridge Assisted Living in Denver, Colorado.

Jacquelyn was born on November 12, 1910 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of John P. (Swede) and Nell L. (Stephens) Nelson. She married Clarence H. Wamser in Emporia, Kansas on April 25, 1944. They later divorced.

Surviving family members include:
Son: Donald C. Wamser of Emporia, Kansas
Daughters: Janetta L. Lobato of Denver, Colorado; and Linnette Countryman of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Two grandchildren: Joey Pizzi of Highland Ranch, Colorado; and Antoinette Berumen of Denver, Colorado.
Three Great-Grandchildren: Joey and Jake Pizzi of Highland Ranch, Colorado, and Lucy Berumen of Denver, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Fred Nelson.

She worked at the AAA Office in Emporia for five years and later at Forren’s Restaurant in Emporia for 20 years.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Emporia, as well as the CWF at the church, the Order of Eastern Star, VFW Auxiliary, and the Topaz Club.

Mrs. Wamser was cremated. The memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, Kansas. The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. till service time. The service will be conducted by a friend of the family K.C. Rider of Emporia. Inurnment will be that the Memorial Lawn Cemetery following the service. Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
