James Lee Countryman, rural Emporia, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the age of 82.

Mr. Countryman was born October 27, 1936 in Kinsley Kansas, the son of John Davey and Ardis Fredong (Cornell) Countryman. He married Nancy Brickley and they later divorced. He married Cindy Suther on May 27, 1978 in Emporia. She died February 1, 2007.
Surviving family members include sons: Toby Countryman, Quinter, KS, Michael Countryman, Eureka, KS, and John Countryman, Hutchinson, KS, Daughters; Anita Brunner, and Patty Fancher, Emporia, KS, and Abbie Goyette of Minnesota, Brothers; David Countryman, Americus, Eddie Countryman, Kinsley, Wayne Countryman, Manhattan, Bobby Countryman, Wichita, and Virgil Countryman, Emporia, Sisters; Elsie Arb, Green River, WY, Mary Proberts, Kinsley, Julia Hohn, Nixa, MO, and Kathy Countryman, Rock Springs, WY. Grandchildren; Shane Brunner, Collin Countryman, Megan Countryman, Kaitlyn, Brooklyn, and Kade Countryman, Aries, Auryona, and Evelyn Countryman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy, his parents, brothers; Freddy, Gene, and Sam Countryman.
He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. James was employed by Mobilphone of Kansas and later by Westar Energy before his retirement.
