James Edward Hensley, Jr., Emporia, Kansas, died at the Emergency Department, Newman Regional Health on Saturday, March 5, 2011. He was two years old.
James was born at Emporia, Kansas on June 2, 2008.
Surviving family members include: his mother, Jennifer R. Pitts, Emporia; his father, James E. Hensley, Emporia; sisters, Amber Pitts, Emporia, and Virginia Norhup, in Iowa; grandparents, Randy and Joy Coates, Emporia, Wesley and Dee Pitts, Wichita, Kansas, Jon Fields, in Missouri, and Buster & Carol Minor, Americus, Kansas; and a great-grandfather, Carl Hensley, of Emporia.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Emporia, and was a “Maynard Monkey”, participating in the Maynard School preschool program (Emporia).
Funeral services will be at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Friday, March 11, 2011, at 2:00 P.M., conducted by Pastor Joe Tuttle, Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, south of Emporia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening, March 10, 2011, from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M.
The family is requesting, instead of flowers, that contributions be made to a memorial fund established in James’ memory, to be designated later. Contributions may be sent to the funeral home.
