James L. Wells “Pappy,” age 60, of Emporia; an amazing man, son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandpa and friend, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. Jim will be greatly missed.
Jim was previously employed at Leiszler Transport Co. and was a proud fireman of 24 years, retired from the Emporia Fire Department.
Jim is survived by his mother, Melissa and her husband Walt Johnson; a brother, George; a sister, Kathy Libertus; his wife, Kathy; son, Wesley Wells; daughter, Kristal Rodriguez; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a proud member of the Fire and Iron Motorcycle Group. He devoted his life to doing for others.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 11, 2014 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Lt. Lynn Lopez of the Salvation Army will be officiating. Interment will be in Fowler-Hunt Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the funeral home.
