James F. Leonard

James F. Leonard, 75 of Overland Park, Kansas died December 11, 2023 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Overland Park.

Jim was born February 27, 1948 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Gene and Norma (Kopke) Leonard. He was a graduate of the Kansas State Teachers College. Jim served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the American Legion, and the Emporia Masonic Lodge, An active member of the Church of the Resurrection,  a retiree of Hartford Insurance Co, Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, water sports and the Royals and Chiefs.

Jim married Diana Campbell in Overland Park on November 11, 1978. Jim faithfully provided loving care for Diana for 40 years until her death February 9, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri. He is survived by  cousin Rosemary Guevara,  lifelong friends Richard and Marcia Greig and many close friends made in his lifetime .

Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be at 11:00 on the 6th of January at the Church of the Resurrection Wesley Covenant Chapel 13720 Roe Ave Leawood Ks 66224.

Memorial contributions may be made to the MS Achievement Center and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
