Jani Rosemont Carter of Emporia, died on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was 68.
Joni was born on November 3, 1955, in Soweto, South Africa the daughter of Zacharia Montsho and Agnes Regina Mhlongo. She married Alvin Carter on March 5, 1993, at the Lyon County Courthouse in Emporia.
Surviving family members include her husband Alvin Carter of Emporia; sons, Joshua Carter of Emporia and Andile Blessing Dlamini of Hutchinson, Kansas; two grandchildren Asiah Elizabeth Dlamini and Sammy Vant Leven and one sister.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Amanda Khethiwe Fesseh, parents, and a brother and sister.
Jani was a homemaker. She attended Emporia State University and received her master’s in business administration.
Cremation is planned with a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024, at New Covenant Church, Emporia.
