Jann E. Jaggard, 59, of Emporia, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia, after losing her battle with cancer.
Jann Eileen Jaggard, the daughter of Richard “Dick” and Faye Daily Jaggard, was born May 10, 1953 in Emporia.
She was a machinist at Didde Incorporated until the time they closed, and in recent years she was a carpenter and woodworker. Jann volunteered at the Lyon County Historical Society Archives, and passes on a love of history, old movies, and the prairie to her family. Her favorite pastime was taking friends and family on history tours around the area.
She is survived by a niece and her husband, Becky Jaggard Smith and Harlan Smith of Emporia; a great-niece, Talia Smith; and a great-nephew, Garrison Smith, both of Emporia; and many aunts, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Richard Jaggard.
The memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Dr. Patrick Murray, a close friend, will officiate. Memorial contributions to the Talgar Memorial Fund, for her niece’s and nephew’s education, may be sent in care of the funeral home.
