Jason Lee Haegert

Jason Lee Haegert of Joplin died on Friday, January 2, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas. He was 41.

Jason was born on May 9, 1984, in Shawnee, Kansas, the son of Dirk L. and Joy (Schleicher) Haegert.

Surviving family members include his parents Dirk and Joy Haegert of Emporia; sister, Janna (Jack) Lewis of Shawnee; some very close friends Russel, Heather, J.P., Zach and a variety of work buddies.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Daryl and JoAnne Haegert, Chuck and Connie Schleicher.

Jason graduated from Northern Heights High School in 2002. He managed the installation of mobile broadband antennas on radio towers. Work took him all over the United States and gave him a soaring bird’s eye view of his surroundings. In his travels, Jason enjoyed the local people, cultures, cuisines, and drinks. He always brought back colorful stories of his adventures. In his spare time, Jason enjoyed kayaking, fishing, cooking, golfing and like many of us, off and on fitness. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a knack for bringing laughter through his hijinks. Jason was always willing to help out.

Cremation is planned with a Visitation for Jason and Dirk Haegert from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 16, 2026, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home with the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. with graveside services following at the Americus Cemetery, Americus.
