Jeane Margaret Barlow Fanestil was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on June 23rd, 1926 to Ada Shidler and Milton Barlow. Mrs. Fanestil died on March 19, 2016 of influenza, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, and sepsis at the age of 89 in Chandler, Arizona. Throughout her life, she lived in Kansas and Arizona.
Jeane received a bachelor’s degree from Kansas University in 1948, with a major in Home Economics.
Jeane Margaret Barlow of Kansas City, Kansas married Don Fanestil of Emporia, Kansas on July 18, 1948. They remained married for the next 62 years. Jeane devoted her life to her family. She bore her first child, Carol, in 1953 and another child, Bill, in 1957.
She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church both in Mission, Kansas and in Emporia, Kansas. She was a long-time member of P.E.O., Chapter GT and a member of Newcomers in Emporia, Kansas.
Carol (Fanestil) McKinney-Jarman, William Fanestil and his wife Nenita, and her grandchildren, Benjamin Fanestil, Jacob Fanestil and Jenna Holliday survive her.

Services will be held at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Tuesday March 29, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
