Jeff “JB” Taylor of Emporia passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Sunflower Legacy in Emporia. He was 71.
JB was born on June 11, 1953, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the son of John L. (Jack) and Eleanor Taylor. In 1975 he married Cynthia Jennings in Emporia. They later divorced.
He is survived by his son, Jesse Taylor (Stephanie) of Emporia; daughter, Kristin Taylor of Bellingham, Washington; grandchildren, Mikaela and Hanna Herrick; brother, Jon Taylor of Navarre Beach, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Christopher Taylor.
JB received his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. He was a machinist and mechanic by trade and delighted in anything mechanical. Almost anything could be repaired or at least disassembled. Motorcycles were his passion, and he was an active member of the Moto Guzzi National Owners Club. He loved nature, animals of all kinds, and being in the Flint Hills.
Cremation is planned with a Visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2024, and the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2024, both at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. A private burial will take place later at the Hillside Cemetery in Toledo. The family requested no flowers. A memorial contribution can be made to Flint Hills Technical College or the Buck Fund in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
