Jeremy Gene Jenkins, 11, of Neosho Rapids, Kansas, is presumed dead after a boating accident while duck hunting at John Redmond Reservoir in Coffey County, KS, December 4, 2010.

Jeremy Gene Jenkins was born November 16, 1999 in Burlington, Kansas, the son of Jason & Shelley (Yeager) Jenkins. Jeremy was a fifth-grader at Neosho Rapids Grade School in Neosho Rapids, Kansas. He attended the United Methodist Church, Neosho Rapids, Kansas, was a member of the The Rinker 4-H Club, Hartford Pee Wee Football Team, and the Hartford Jaguars Rec Basketball Team.

Jeremy is survived by: his mother, Shelley Jenkins of the home; Grandparents, Calvin and Pat Yeager of Neosho Rapids, Kansas; honorary Grandparents, Jim and Janice George of Harford, Kansas; Great- Grandparents, Laureita Lyon of Emporia, Kansas, and E.J. and Joyce Colglazier of Emporia, Kansas; Brothers, Cody and Colten Barrett of the home; Sister, Brisha Jenkins of the home; honorary Sister, Brittany Hase of the home; Aunts and Uncles, Steve and Tanya Eckman of Emporia, Kansas, Luke and Denise Jenkins of Lincoln, Nebraska, Brian and Bettina Shank of Neosho Rapids, Kansas, Matt and Deidra Baumwart of Emporia, Kansas, George and Jenika Ndegwa of Neosho Rapids, Kansas, and Jenny Yeager of Neosho Rapids, Kansas.

Jeremy was preceded in death by: his father, Jason Allen Jenkins; Uncle, Clinton Calvin Dean Yeager; Grandfather, Ronald Jenkins; Grandmother, Sandra Domme; and Great-Grandfather, Red Lyon.

Memorial service will be Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Hartford High School in Hartford, Kansas. Pastor Mark Henson of the First Church of the Nazarene, Emporia, Kansas, and Rev. Jimmy McLendon of the Lake Washington First Baptist Church, Glen Allan, Mississippi, will be conducting the service.
