Jerry Jim Bainum, 72, formerly of Centralia, Kansas, died on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Flint Hills Care Center, Emporia, Kansas.
Jerry was born on September 16, 1942 in Arlington, Kansas, the son of Brice and Betty Ann Burgess Bainum. He married Linda M. Nelson on March 24, 1978 in Chanute, Kansas.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda of Emporia; sons, J. Wade Bainum of Houston, Texas, and Sean Bainum of Kansas City, Missouri; daughters, Dawn Bainum Schrock of Olathe, Kansas, and Jennifer Bainum of Virginia Beach, Virginia; eight granddaughters, and one grandson; brothers, David Bainum of Dover, Kansas, Rex Bainum of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Dale Bainum of Celina, Texas; and sisters, Janet Southards of Valley Center, Kansas, and Retha Pearce of Wichita, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Jerry was a teacher and football coach in Chanute, Little River, Fort Scott Community College, Shawnee Mission West, Trinity Catholic High School, Wichita Collegiate, Centralia, and Onaga.
