Jerry P. Dick, 77, a lifelong resident of Emporia, Kansas, died on September 27, 2012 in Emporia.
Jerry was born on July 5, 1935 in Emporia, the son of Henry K. and Blanche L. Grandpre Dick. He is survived by his brother, William J. Dick and wife Milli of Emporia; a niece, Janet Wilson of Kansas City, Kansas; and two nephews, John Dick of Yates Center, Kansas, and Henry Dick III of Topeka, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Henry J. Dick Jr.
Jerry was active in his Emporia High School reunions, loved hunting and fishing with his brothers, and enjoyed ragtime music. He was an avid sports fan following KU basketball and Kansas City Chiefs football. Jerry was also a devoted caregiver for his parents in their last years. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 1, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia. Services will be conducted by Father Richard Warsnak of the church. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Emporia.
