Jerry Dean Harris

Jerry Harris, 88, rural Emporia, Kansas, passed away at Sunflower Care Center, Legacy, Emporia, on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

Jerry Dean Harris was born in Plymouth, Kansas on February 25, 1936, the son of Albert Arthur and Mary Ellen (Toms) Harris. He is survived by his sons: Mike (Grace A.) Harris, Strong City, and Jeffrey Dean Harris, rural Emporia, Kansas, sister; Nona Cheryl Wilson, Fort Worth, Texas, companion; Donna Dillon, Emporia, grandchildren; Karina, Malachi, Jacob (Bethany), Sarah, and Lane, Great-granddaughter; Anna.  He was preceded in death by one son; Brian Dale Harris and his former wife; Nancy Jean.

Mr. Harris farmed throughout his lifetime, and had also been employed at Didde-Glaser, Emporia. He was an Army Veteran.

Funeral services will be held at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. The service will be conducted by Pastor Rob Clausen. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery, Toledo, Kansas.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM
