Jerry J. Johnson, 51, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and formerly of Emporia, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011, as a result of a traffic accident.
Jerry Johnson, the son of Glenn Edward and Lois Florine Galutia Johnson, was born March 14, 1960 in Emporia, Kansas. He graduated from Emporia High School in 1978 and was a fork lift operator for Modine Manufacturing for 18 years, before moving to Florida and running a fork lift for a freight distribution center. He had recently moved to Myrtle Beach.
He is survived by his parents, Glenn E. and Lois F. Johnson of Emporia; a daughter, Jennifer Hughes of El Dorado, Kansas; a brother, R.E. “Nick” Johnson of Emporia; and one grandson of El Dorado.
