Jess William Redding, Emporia, Kansas, passed away at Newman Regional Health, Emporia, on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the age of 72.
Jess was born at Stidham, Oklahoma on January 18, 1939, the son of Jess Everet and Johny Grace (Pemberton) Redding. He married Carolyn Sue Guthrie on August 4, 1960. She survives.
Other family members include a son, John W. Redding, Austin, Texas; a daughter, Sherry Redding McKim, Manor, Texas; three grandchildren, Jason, Jeanlyn, and Jessa Redding, Austin, Texas; sisters, Anna Bell Harris, Lawton, Oklahoma, and Donna Shatswell, Eufala, Oklahoma; ten nieces and nephews; and nineteen great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Maudina Wright.
He worked at Crawford Manufacturing Company, and IBP, later Tyson Meats, of Emporia prior to his retirement.
Funeral services will be at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. conducted by Mr. David Hurlocker. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
