Jill Ann Johnston

Jill Ann Johnston, 84, Emporia, Kansas and formerly of Hoisington, Kansas, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

Jill Ann Weigel was born in Barton County, Kansas on August 3, 1941, the daughter of Raymond and Harriet (McKenna) Weigel.  She married Paul Leo Johnston in Hoisington, Kansas on May 29, 1962.  He survives. Other surviving family members include sons; Ronald (Monica)  Johnston,  Lee's Summit, Missouri, James (Kimberly) Johnston, Gardner, Kansas, Keith (Sunshine) Johnston, Spokane, Washington, daughter; Teresa (Steven) Pistora, Lindsborg, Kansas, sister; Jane Watkins, Wichita, Kansas, grandchildren; Evan Pistora, Kelsey Graves, Paige, Emily, Meredith, and Taylor Johnston, as well as three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother; Jack Weigel.

Mrs. Johnston was a 1959 graduate of Hoisington (Kansas) High School and had attended Emporia State University.  She was a member of the community at the Didde Catholic Campus Center in Emporia, Kansas

Cremation is planned. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:30 A.M. at the Didde Catholic Campus Center, Emporia. Inurnment will be at a later date at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Hoisington, Kansas.

A memorial has been established with the Didde Catholic Campus Center with contributions sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, PO Box #175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
