Jimmy Dean Theas

Jimmy Dean Theas, 66, of Americus, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on December 18, 2024.

He was born on November 24, 1958, in Fairfax, Missouri, to Earl Dean and Carolyn (Mallon) Theas. In 1980, Jimmy married Debra Rowell, and together they welcomed a son, Jeremy. After their divorce, he married Holly Graham in 1986 in Americus, Kansas, where they had a son, Shane, and a daughter, Lauren.

Jimmy is survived by his children: Jeremy (Evelyn) Theas of Jacksonville, North Carolina; Shane (Allie) Theas of Belle Plaine, Minnesota; and Lauren (Walker) Ayers of Emporia, Kansas. He is also survived by his sisters: Linda (Todd) Soetebier of Americus, Kansas; Sherlyn Theas of Maryville, Missouri; Betty Brass of Albany, Missouri; and Reba Theas (Adam Hurt) of Lincoln, Nebraska. Jimmy’s cherished legacy includes his grandchildren—Isabel, Gabriella, Anthony, Brooklyn, Graham, Mack, Emerson, Holly, and Dean—as well as his great-grandchild, Marianna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Carolyn Theas.

Jimmy took great pride in his children and grandchildren, finding joy in sharing their accomplishments with others. He was an avid billiards player and enjoyed spending time with his tight-knit pool community, competing in weekly leagues and tournaments.

Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1101 Neosho, Emporia, Kansas. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service
