Joan J. Henoch, 87, of Emporia, Kansas, died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
Joan J. Johnson, the daughter of Wesley Johnson and Rachel Nance, was born May 30, 1927 in Manhattan, Kansas. She married Dean U. Henoch on July 29, 1945 in Junction City, Kansas. He survives of Emporia.
Other surviving members of the family include: two sons, Blake and his wife Gina Henoch of Emporia, and Mark Henoch of Topeka, Kansas; two daughters, Jane and her husband Tim Grauer of Marysville, Kansas, and Denise Henoch of Ottawa, Kansas; two brothers, Jerry Johnson of Wichita, Kansas and John Johnson of Lebo, Kansas; a sister, Sue Feltner of Tennessee; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Joan had worked at the motor vehicle department at the Riley County Courthouse and Rex’s Tire in Manhattan. She is a member of Emporia Presbyterian Church (formerly Westminster United Presbyterian) and many bridge clubs in Emporia.
Her funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, with Rev. Lee Hoskins officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the N.E. Kansas Parkinson Association, and sent in care of the funeral home.
