Joe David Rogers, 68, Bushong, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Joe was born May 8, 1947 in Blakley, Georgia, the son of Woodrow Wilson and Dicie Janettie (Mathews) Rogers. He married Karen Lee Jorgensen July 25, 1972 in Donalsonville, GA. She survives of the home.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife; daughters, Donna Lynn Madison, Howard, Kansas, Dianna Lee Jorgensen, Slocomb, Alabama, Jessie Ann Rogers, Topeka, Kansas, Aimee Caroline Rogers, Tulsa, Oklahoma; sons, Karl Joe Rogers, Pomona, Kansas, John Curtis Rogers, Emporia, and Timothy Alan Rogers, Reading, Kansas; brothers, Wilson Rogers, Malone, Florida and Curtis Rogers, Marianna, Florida; and eleven grandchildren, Michael Smith, Marc Madison, C.J. Madison, Tyler Rogers, Cody Smith, Leigh Ann Williford, Megan Rogers, Alyssa Campbell, Trey Rogers, Robert Campbell, and Colter Rogers.
He was a truck driver, working the last eight years for Swift Transport. Mr. Rogers was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Funeral Services will be at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, Friday, January 22, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. The service will be conducted by Pastor Rick Smith and Pastor Ken Wilkerson. Interment will be in Bushong Cemetery, with military services by Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion and Lowry-Funston Post #1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
