John Edward Roberts, of Emporia, Kansas, died April 30, 2024, at home. He was 69 years old.
John was born in Olathe, Kansas, on October 9, 1954, the son of Marvin Roberts and Velma Eileen (Kellerman) Camfield. He married Cathy L. Coop on December 6, 1986, in Emporia Kansas. She passed on October 16, 2023.
He is survived by his son, James D Coop of Americus, KS; daughters LeDawn Getten of Lawrence, KS; Bonnie Garcia of Newton, KS; grandchildren Erin (Nathan) Goodwin, Brenden Coop, Liam Roberts, Jett Miller, Hayden Coop, Eaven Sommer, Leora Olivia; and great-grandchildren Bentley Goodwin and Emaleigh Goodwin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister Jolene Burnett, brother Roger Roberts, daughter Misty Dawn Roberts, and wife Cathy L. Coop.
The family would like to recognize the following casket bearers: grandson Nathan Goodwin, nephews Toby Roberts and Allen Albright, friends Luke Turner, Trapper Petersen and Tree, and great-grandchildren Bentley and Emaleigh Goodwin.
Private services are planned, followed by a burial Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Janesville Cemetery in Hamilton, Kansas.
