John R. Stine, 83, formerly of Emporia, Kansas, died on January 18, 2013 at Emeritus at Overland Park in Overland Park, Kansas.
John was born on June 29, 1929 in Neosho Rapids, Kansas, the son of Perle W. and Hazel M. Petty Stine.
He is survived by: wife, Donna Randall of Eudora, Kansas; brothers, Jay P. Stine and wife Margie of Emporia, and Joe F. Stine and wife Teresa of Sedalia, Missouri; stepson, Ron St. Bonnett and wife Jennifer of Hartford, Kansas; stepdaughters, Cheryl Gibson of Emporia, and Gloria Auchard and husband Fred of Council Grove, Kansas; nine step-grandchildren; Donna’s four children; and six grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Phyllis Brock, Billie Stine, and Betty Short; a brother, James W. Stine; and an infant brother.
John worked many years for the Santa Fe Railroad doing various jobs. He was a member of the Neosho Rapids Methodist Church.
The Memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, January 21, 2013 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Buck Animal Welfare Fund, Emporia Animal Shelter or the D.A.V. may be sent in care of the funeral home.
