Johnnie E. Thompson, (86), of Emporia died Friday, July 28, 2017 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. He donated his body to K.U. Medical School. There are no services planned.
Johnnie Edward Thompson the son of Roy Richard and Mary O. Burke Thompson was born April 17, 1931 in Tucker, Arkansas. He joined the Army on February 18, 1948 and was honorably discharged on July 1, 1970.
He is survived by a sister Eula Morgan of Colorado; a twin brother, Donnie Thompson of the state of Washington; two step-sons, Daniel Branson of Emporia and Rick (Khrista) Branson of Ashland; a step-daughter, Vicki Ellis of Wichita; eight grandchildren, Daniel Branson, Jr, Nicole Branson, Jake Branson, Talitha Ellis, Dwayne Ellis, Raelynne Ellis, Jesse Branson and Jack Branson; fourteen great-grandchildren also survive.
