Jolynn Mae Sweet, 72, Emporia, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia.

Jolynn Mae McHugh was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, the daughter of Joseph Blackburn and Juanita Mae (Ellis) McHugh. She married Robert A. Sweet at Emporia, Kansas on December 6, 1980. He survives.

Other surviving family members include her son; William J. “BJ” Sweet (Sarah), Emporia, KS, Daughter; Lucinda L “Cindy” Breeden, Manhattan, KS, Grandchildren; Brooke Lynn, Brandon Xavier, David Joshua, Kevin Duane, Evelyn Jeanette “Evey” Breeden, and Brayden Robert Sweet, and a Great-grandson; Logan Lucas Farley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Gary Lee McHugh.

Jolynn had worked at Didde Web Press for 30 years in the Clerical Department and as Office Manager. She later worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation for 10 years.

She was a member of the Saffordville United Methodist Church, Saffordvile, Kansas.

Cremation is planned.

A memorial service will be held in the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, Kansas on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. The service will be conducted by Pastor Marilyn Christmore of the church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour before the service.

A memorial has been established to Hand-In-Hand Hospice, with contributions sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box #175, Emporia, Kansas 66801
