Jose “Nano” Bautista of Emporia, died on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at his home. He was 39.
Nano was born on April 5, 1986, in El Paso, Texas, the son of Jose and Carmela Nava.
Surviving family members include his son, Cuauhtemoc “Quacky” Bautista of Emporia; daughter, Naomi Gomez of Hutchison; mother, Carmela Nava of Dallas, Texas; father, Jose Nava of Clovis, New Mexico; sister, Daniela (Ryan) Barron of Emporia; grandparents, Maria Bautista of Emporia and Romulo and Rosalia Nava of Clovis, New Mexico, uncles, Edurado Bautista, Jr. of Emporia, Jose David (Stacie) Bautista of Oklahoma; aunt, Celia Bautista of Topeka; niece and nephew Ciara and Thiago Esquivel as well as many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather Edurado Bautista, Sr. and his uncle Pablo Bautista.
Nano was a Forklift Operator for Simmons Pet Food for over 10 years.
The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home with a visitation following from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Cremation will take place following the Mass with a private inurnment later at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Emporia.
