Jose Luis Ruiz

Jose Luis Ruiz, Emporia, Kansas, died June 7, 2025. He was 30 years old.

Jose was born on March 9, 1995, in McAllen, Texas, the son of Hugo and Susie (Diaz) Ruiz. He graduated high school from Emporia High, and married Mia Knoll on February 7, 2018. She survives of the home.

Survivors include sons Andre and Adrian Ruiz, Emporia, Kansas; parents Hugo and Susie (Diaz) Ruiz, Emporia, Kansas; grandparents Maricela Ruiz, Alamo, Texas; Alberto and Josefina Contreras, Alamo, Texas; and brothers Hugo (Leticia) Ruiz Jr., Emporia, Kansas; Jordain (Karla) Ruiz, Emporia, Kansas; Anthony Ruiz and partner Natalie Duron, Emporia, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather's Miguel Ruiz and Theodore Knoll.

Jose loved being outdoors. A few of his favorite hobbies included fishing, grilling, and sports. He also loved spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State Street, Emporia, Kansas, 66801. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 2000 Prairie Street, Emporia, Kansas, 66801.
