Joyce L. Madore

Joyce L. Madore, 87, Emporia, Kansas, died at Newman Regional Health on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

Joyce Wiedmer was born December 15, 1936 in Madison, Kansas, the daughter of Lionel and Mary (Piley) Wiedmer.  She married Robert L. “Gus” Madore on August 18, 1969 in Nowata, Oklahoma. He died August 31, 2006.  Surviving her are sons: Carl (Terry) Morgan, Emporia, Kansas, and Clay (Robin) Morgan, Skiatook, Oklahoma, Brothers; John Wiedmer, Phoenix, Arizona, Jerome Wiedmer, Green, Kansas, Sistesr; Jeraldine Brown, Cabot, Arkansas, Janet LaNier, Leonardville, Kansas, Grandchildren; Lucas (Savoeun) Morgan, Cheyenne (John) Baker, Ricky (Rebecca) Morgan, Cheye (John) Maples, and Thirteen Great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the First Christian Church. Joyce was a Registered Nurse and had worked at Newman Regional Health in Emporia, Director of Daybreak Adult Day Care in Missouri, and began employment at Emporia Presbyterian Manor in 1999 and was still employed there until shortly before her death. She was a member of the Kansas State Nurses Association, and was a former volunteer with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Senior Patrol.

Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 21, 2024 at the First Christian Church, Emporia, conducted by Pastor Rob Clausen. The Emporia Nurses Honor Guard will also participate in the service. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery west of Olpe, Kansas.
