Joyce Sattler, 68, of rural Emporia, Kansas, died March 2, 2014 at her home.
  
  
  Joyce was born on July 22, 1945 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Matthew Lee and Ruth Albright Cain. She married Francis “Fran” D. Sattler on January 3, 1965 in Windom, Kansas. He died on December 23, 2012 at their home.
  
  
  Survivors include her daughter, Tamara Sattler; and son, Jeff Sattler both of the Kansas City area; two sisters, Louise Stuckey of Hutchinson, and JoAnn Laughlin of Wichita, Kansas.
  
  
  She is preceded in death by her husband, and parents.
  
  
  Joyce taught music for over thirty years and was a music teacher at the Americus Grade School for 25 years. After retiring, she went to work at Newman Regional Health in Administration for 10 years. She was a member of the Neosho Rapids Memorial Methodist Church in Neosho Rapids, a member of the North Lyon County Teachers Association, Kansas National Education Association, and MENC the National Association for Music Educators.
  
  
  Cremation has taken place with a memorial service to be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 7, 2014 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Gene Huston of the Neosho Rapids Memorial Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the funeral home.
  
  
  The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Hartford Community Food Bank, Neosho Rapids Memorial Methodist Church, or the H. Dale Buck Animal Welfare Fund and send in care of the funeral home.
