Juanita R. Kennison, 93, of Emporia, Kansas, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Holiday Resort, Emporia.
Juanita was born on July 17, 1921 in El Reno, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ross B. and Rebecca Yeo DeWeese. She married Kenneth Kennison on June 5, 1937 in Emporia. He died on November 4, 1985 in Emporia.
Surviving family members include: sons, Kenneth Wesley Kennison and wife Joyce of Wichita, Kansas, and Larry D. Kennison and wife Shirley of Marquette, Kansas; daughter, Nadine M. Bastin of Emporia; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Edith Kennison, and Opal Baker; grandson, John Bastin, Jr.; and son-in-law, John Bastin.
Juanita worked for Braums Bakery and later at Four Seasons Laundry. She will be remembered by everyone for her friendly personality, beautiful old tunes from her little organ, and her love for bingo.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, with burial following at Americus Cemetery, Americus, Kansas.
