Juanita Kay Slead

Juanita Kay Slead, 74, of Lebo, Kansas died on April 20, 2018 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.

Kay was born on September 22, 1943 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Dennis James, Jr. and Edna Mae Woods Gilligan.  She married David A. Slead on February 12, 1996 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He survives.

Surviving family members include: husband, David Slead of Lebo, Kansas; sons, Brian Spielman of Olathe, Kansas, Brad Spielman and wife Denise of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Jason Pankaskie and wife Dolcey of Lebo, Kansas; stepsons, Dustin Slead and wife Kelli of Lebo, and Jarrod Slead and wife Heather of Lawrence; brothers, Ron Gilligan of Emporia, Tim Gilligan of Bonner Springs, Kansas, and Mike Gilligan of Lebo, Kansas; sisters, Stella Free and husband George of Emporia, Rita Wagers of Neosho Rapids, Kansas, Sue Bahm of Overland Park, Kansas and Teresa Barrett and husband Terry of Emporia; grandchildren, Kyle Spielman, Alyssa (Lucas) Clarkson, Hunter Spielman, Alexa Spielman, Brayden Pankaskie, Atley Pankaskie, Caydence Pankaskie, Landyn Pankaskie, Anya Slead, Dodge Slead, Emma Slead, Abbi Slead, Bane Slead, Darman Slead , Cassus Slead.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gilbert James Gilligan, and Donald A. Gilligan.

Kay was a homemaker.
