Judith (Judy) Kathleen Robinson

Judith (Judy) K. Robinson, 76, rural Emporia, Kansas, passed away at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.

A Memorial Service to be held at the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1508 West 12th in Emporia on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dinah Dutta, Ph.D. Cremation is planned.

A Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 6:30-8pm.

Judith Kathleen Pedersen was born in Emporia, Kansas on September 18, 1940, the daughter of Elmer N. and Delores Virginia (Johnson) Pedersen. She and Gary R. Robinson were united in marriage in Emporia on June 7, 1959. Gary survives of the home.

Judy is also survived by two daughters; Jo Ellen Sosa (Robert), Emporia, and Missy Hubert (Dan), Shawnee, KS, brothers; Don Pedersen (Christine), Allen, KS, Rodney Pedersen, and Eric Pedersen (Susan), both of Emporia, sister; Penny Phillips (Bob), Emporia, grandchildren; Hannah Hendricks (Chris), Brianna Kietzman (Ian), Parker Ast (Jenna), Jordan and Bailey Sosa, Cayenne Ast, Sam and Quincy Hubert, and two great-grandchildren; Elaine and Maren Henricks; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter and son-in-law; Teri and John Ast, a sister; Barbara Hoskins (Phil), and a niece; Krystal Phillips.

She was a member of St Mark’s Lutheran Church where she participated in the quilting group. She was also a lifetime supporter of Lyon County 4-H and a member of the PEO sisterhood. Other activities she enjoyed were music, gardening, and golf, where she achieved a hole-in-one on two occasions.

Judy was a 1958 graduate of Emporia High School, and attended Washburn University, Topeka. She was employed in the Accounting Department at Famous Brands in Topeka, with the State Agricultural Statistics Department and as a tax preparer at H & R Block in Emporia.
