Judith Arleen Kegin of Emporia died on Friday, June 13, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family. She was 84.

Judy was born on June 2, 1941, in Weed, California, the daughter of Oscar Byron and Melba Dragseth Mossbarger. She married Dr. James LeRoy Kegin on November 27, 1964, in Denver, Colorado. Jim later died on October 29, 2008, in Emporia, Kansas.

She is survived by her son, James "Jimmy" Kegin, and wife, Winona, of Lawrence; daughter, Janice "Jannie" Stubbs, and husband Michael, of Emporia; grandchildren, Jenica Hallman (Ezra) of Leawood, Sydona Kegin of Overland Park, and Curtis James Kegin of Lawrence; great-granddaughter, Juliana Hallman; brother Ron (Marie) Mossbarger of Chico, California; and sister, Janice (Gene) Embrey of Orland, California.

Her husband, parents, grandson, Aaron Michael Stubbs, and brother, Bob Mossbarger, preceded her death.

Through her 84 years, Judy loved being a wife, homemaker, minister, and friend, but most of all, she loved being a mother and grandmother. Judy and her late husband, Jim, were also founders of Victory Fellowship in Emporia.

Cremation is planned with a Celebration of Life at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Victory Fellowship Church, with a private burial at a later date in Hartford Cemetery.
