Judith Ann Luginsland

Judith Ann Luginsland, 87, of Allen, Kansas, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025 at Diversicare in Council Grove surrounded by her family.

Judith was born on March 23, 1938 in Nickerson, Kansas, the daughter of Walter Meredith and Martha Ann (Brownlee) Kirkpatrick.  She graduated Nickerson High in 1956 and Emporia State Teachers College in 1960.  She married Gene Calvin Luginsland in Hutchinson, Kansas on February 7, 1960.  He passed away suddenly on March 6, 1993 in Allen, Kansas.  Judith is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Tom) Wells of Allen, Kansas; sister Eleanor (Lee) Weltmer of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren Collin Gene Wells, Caroline Hope Wells, Ashley Jade Wells; and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Martha Jean Shively and brother, Mark Alan Kirkpatrick.

Judy was a member of the Allen United Methodist Church and was also active in Sunnyside Club, Eastern Star and United Methodist Women.

Funeral services will take place Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State Street, Emporia, Kansas 66801.  The family will receive friends during visitation on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
