Julian Ortiz, 22, of Emporia, Kansas, died Friday, December 9, 2011 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas as a result of injuries suffered in a multi-car accident near the Lyon County Fairgrounds.
Julian Ortiz, the son of Alfredo S. and Celia C. Cervantes Ortiz, was born August 25, 1989 in Council Grove, Kansas. He had worked at the Hills Pet Food plant in Emporia.
Julian is survived by his daughters, Deserae JoAnna Ortiz-Velazquez and Jaylin Ortiz-Velazquez both of Emporia; his companion, Arely Velazquez of Emporia; his parents, Alfredo and Celia Ortiz of Emporia; a brother, Alfredo Ortiz of Emporia; grandparents, Monico and Juanita Ortiz of Emporia, and Guadalupe and Maria Cervantes of Mexico.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Centro Cristiano de Emporia, 907 Constitution, Emporia. Pastor Axel Centeno, of the Vida Abudante Church will officiate. The family will meet with friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2011 at Centro Cristiano de Emporia.
