Kenneth E. Hoffman of Emporia, Kansas died at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas on February 9, 2011. He was a career business teacher including service at Arkansas City High School Arkansas City, Kansas; Cowley County Community College; Burlingame High School Burlingame, Kansas; and Emporia State University Emporia, Kansas. A graduate of Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas in 1959, Emporia State University in 1960 and The Ohio State University in 1968, Dr. Hoffman retired as a professor of General Business and Business Education from Emporia State University in 2005. He was a pioneer in Entrepreneurship Education in Kansas, hosting the first business start-up statewide conferences for teachers, and authoring numerous articles and a book “Exploring the World of the Entrepreneur’ used internationally for student career development classes.
  
  
  
  Kenneth was born in Atchison, Kansas on August 7, 1937, the son of Joseph A. and Mildred Walker Hoffman. He married Ruth Ann Noll August 22, 1959 at Corpus Christi Church near Winchester, Kansas. She survives of the home.
  
  
  
  He is also survived by: a daughter, Kathleen Berry of Atchison, Kansas; two sons, Douglas Hoffman of Rosemount, Minnesota and Eric Hoffman of Merriam, Kansas; six grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Anderson of Park Forest, Illinois; a brother, David Hoffman of Atchison, Kansas.
  
  
  A brother, Paul Kreutzer of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and a sister Morlene Ruhlman of Cedar Falls, Iowa preceded Kenneth in death.
  
  
  
  The funeral will be at Victory Fellowship Four Square Gospel Church in Emporia, Kansas on Monday February 14, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. The Reverend Mike Stubbs will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia, Kansas.
  
  
  
  The family suggests that instead of flowers, contributions be made to Victory Fellowship Four Square Gospel Church or the Lyon County Chapter of the American Heart Association and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
