Kenneth D. Koch, 89, Emporia, Kansas, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 7, 2022.

Kenneth was born in Emporia, Kansas on September 30, 1932, the son of August and Gertrude (Jacob) Koch.  He married Ana Lea Quisenberry on April 12, 1953 at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Leavenworth, Kansas.  Kenneth is survived by his wife; their daughters; Patty (Wesley) Marks, Belle Plaine, Kansas, Carol (Tim) Haug, Topeka, Kansas, DeAnna (David) Blair, Shawnee, Kansas, and Denise (Doug) Sessler, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and grandchildren; Judy Marks and Bill (Makenzie) Blair and Joseph Blair. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin sister, Carol Catanese.

Kenneth owned and operated Koch, Inc. on Commercial Street in Emporia until his retirement in 1988.  Following that he worked at Western Motors then later KANS Radio.  From September of 1952 until September, 1956, he was a member of the United States Air Force, serving as an Air Traffic Controller.  He was a graduate Emporia Senior High School in 1949 and of Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia with a degree in business in 1957.  He was a member and former president of Hi-Noon Kiwanis Club.  He was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church and formerly Faith Lutheran Church.

Cremation is planned with a private family service held at a later date.
