Kenneth R. Ogle, 69, of Emporia, Kansas died Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
  
  
  Ken was born on April 28, 1945 in Stafford, Kansas, the son of Vernon and Grace Byers Ogle. He married Gloria Ruby, and they later divorced. On December 10, 1982, he married Deanna L. “Dee” Love Elbert in Emporia. She died on February 9, 2003.
  
  
  Surviving family members include his longtime girlfriend, Teresa Strother of Emporia; his son Kevin Ogle and wife Tammi of Emporia; stepson, David Elbert and wife Kelly, of Americus; and six grandchildren.
  
  
  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a stepson, Danny Elbert.
  
  
  After being honorably discharged from serving in the United States Air Force, Ken was then the Financial Manager at John North Ford, where he worked for many years. He also worked in the furnace division at Sauder Tank and Fabrication, and then in the maintenance department at Hopkins Manufacturing before retiring three years ago.
  
  
  Ken was a lifetime member of Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion in Emporia, and enjoyed vehicles of all kinds and NASCAR. He was a private and caring man who would help out anyone. He will forever be missed by those who love him.
  
  
  Cremation is planned, with a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established with the Emporia All Veterans Memorial. Contributions may be sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
