Kenneth D. Pearson, 85, of Emporia, Kansas died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at his home.
  
  
  Kenneth Delos Pearson, the son of Raymond Alexander and Lola Olive Grewell Pearson, was born April 23, 1929 in Ottawa, Kansas. He married Patsy “Pat” J. Wagner on July 21, 1951 in Huntsville, Arkansas. She survives of the home.
  
  
  Other surviving members of the family include: a son, Scott (Teresa) Pearson of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Kenna Reeves of Emporia, and Cheryl (Mike) Emery of Tonganoxie, Kansas; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
  
  
  He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; one sister; and a son-in-law, Bob Reeves.
  
  
  Kenneth received his BA in education and psychology from Ottawa University. From 1950 to 1957 he was an educator, and from 1957 to 1990 he was an in the insurance business. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Emporia, Rising Sun Masonic Lodge in Ft. Scott, Kansas City Scottish Rite, and St. Joseph Aarat Shrine Temple. Earlier he was actively involved with Jaycees and other civic organizations, and was also an avid golfer.
  
  
  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Emporia. Pastor Rob Clausen will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemtery, Emporia.
  
  
  The family will receive friends from 7 P.M. until 8 P.M., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.
