Kenneth Rex Turnbull, 73, formerly of Eskridge, Kansas, passed away August 19, 2018 at Windsor Place, Coffeyville, Kansas.
Rex was born on July 31, 1945 in Eskridge, Kansas, to John Kenneth “Bill” Turnbull and Virgie Louise Wheat Turnbull. He married and later divorced Diane Kay Bohn, and had two children, Chad Turnbull and Staci Turnbull, both of Eskridge. He was then married to Cindy White, and they also divorced.
In addition to his children, Rex is also survived by: brother, J. Michael Turnbull of Emporia; stepbrothers, Dr. Chuck VanPetten, Atchison, Kansas, Ed VanPetten of New Brighton, Minnesota, and Dr. Jeff VanPetten of Meriden, Kansas; stepsister, Chris VanPetten, Mesa Arizona; and one granddaughter, Carley Turnbull of Eskridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Darrell Turnbull; and stepmother, Ruth Turnbull.
Rex served in the Army National Guard and was a member of United Church of Eskridge. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Kansas State University, and was employed by and retired from the City of Eskridge water department.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at United Church of Eskridge, officiated by Pastor Nancy Jacobson of the church. The family will receive friends during the hour before the service. Burial will be in Eskridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to United Church of Eskridge and sent in care of the funeral home.
