Kyle Matthew Wilson, 30, of Manhattan, Kansas and formerly of Emporia died Friday, July 29, 2016 at Via Christi Health in Manhattan, Kansas.
Kyle was born on April 10, 1986 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Jerome Todd and Jodi Annice Johns Wilson.
Surviving family members include: parents, Jodi Wilson-Dunlap and husband Wes Dunlap of Emporia, and Jerome Todd Wilson and companion Karen Lacy of Emporia; brothers, Tyler Scott Wilson and companion Ashly Leinbaugh of Manhattan, Kansas, and Michael Steven Wilson and companion Tara Hughes of Allen, Kansas; grandparents, James Arthur Wilson and Jean Anne Wilson both of Topeka; great aunt Sarah Mounkes of Emporia, Betty Small of Lebo, and Muriel Mullikin and husband Russell of Augusta; great uncle, James Gilligan of Marco Island, Florida ; Uncles Jeff Johns of Emporia, Kansas and Jay Johns of Buckeye, Arizona; nieces and nephews Holly Wilson, Dominic Wilson, Kaylee Burton, Brynlee Wilson, Kemper Wilson, Jaxon Leinbaugh.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Walter L. Johns, and Donna M. Johns and his uncle Michael S. Wilson.
Kyle graduated from Emporia High in 2004 and then went to Dodge City Community College, Pratt County Community College where he received his associates degree and then to Ft. Hays State University where he received his bachelor’s degree. For the last three and half years he was employed the Westar Energy in Manhattan, Kansas as the Senior Technician Design.
Cremation has taken place with the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. till the service time. A private interment will be at a later date. A memorial fund to the Kyle Wilson Memorial Fund will be designated at a later date can be sent in care of the funeral home.
