L. Keith Douglas, Emporia, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Holiday Resort Care Center, Emporia. He was 90.
Lloyd Keith Douglas was born March 4, 1925 at Americus, Kansas, the son of Cassius Loren and Fern (Maxwell) Douglas. He married Doris Nadine Nielsen October 12, 1947 at Emporia, Kansas. She died September 25, 2012.
Surviving family members include his sons; Ronald Douglas, and Dennis Douglas, both of Emporia, Sister; Norma White, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Grandchildren; Kimberly LoPorto, Jessica Smith, Kelly Douglas, and Brooke Douglas, Great-grandchildren; Harlee Smith, Rylee Smith, Kaelynn LoPorto, and Leonitus Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, Larry Douglas and one brother.
Keith was a member of the First Christian Church. For many years he was the Children’s Department Manager at Newman Department Store in downtown Emporia.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. The service will be conducted by Pastor Bob Colerick, First Christian Church. Interment will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 1:30 until 3:00.
A memorial to Hand In Hand Hospice has been established. Gifts may be sent in care of the funeral home.
