L. Doris Traw, 88, formerly of Emporia, Kansas, died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Windsor Place Care Center, Iola, Kansas.
  
  
  Lela Doris Williamson, the youngest of eleven children of Arthur Eben and Laura May (Sime) Williamson, was born in rural Hartford, Kansas on September 10, 1925. She married Paul R. Traw at Burlington, Kansas on April 9, 1944. He died May 4, 1996.
  
  
  Surviving members of the family include: sons, Dennis (Rena) Traw, Emporia, Pastor Steven P. Traw, Iola, and Rex B. (Linda) Traw, Tulsa, Oklahoma; three sisters, Bessie McCartney, Emporia, Lena Griffin, Burlington, and Jean Richards, Torrance, California; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
  
  
  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and four sisters.
  
  
  Mrs. Traw worked for Interstate Bakeries/Dolly Madison Cake in Emporia for twenty-one years, retiring in 1990.
  
  
  She graduated from Strawn (Kansas) High School, and was valedictorian of her class of three. She attended Kansas State Normal School (ESU) in Emporia and taught one year in the Otter Creek Elementary School in rural Coffey County. She was a member of Flint Hills Christian Church, Emporia.
  
  
  Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Flint Hills Christian Church, Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Bob Robison, Madison Christian Church. Burial will be in the Strawn Cemetery, Coffey County, Kansas.
  
  
  Memorials have been established with Allen County Hospice (Iola) or Emporia Alzheimer’s Support Group. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
