Larry Gene Hinrichs

Larry Gene Hinrichs, 56, of Emporia, Kansas, died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at his home.

Larry was born May 2, 1958 in Reading, Kansas, the son of Raymond and Ruth (Vogts) Hinrichs. He married Debra Gates and they later divorced. He then married Cynthia Grady on October 19, 2001 in Emporia. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include: sons, Tyson Hinrichs of Wichita, Kansas, Cody Hinrichs of Emporia, Dustin Hinrichs of Topeka, Kansas, and Dylan Hinrichs of Topeka; stepsons, Donald Crank and Christopher McCabe, both of Emporia; stepdaughters, Brandy Crank and Dawn Patwary, both of Emporia; brother, David Hinrichs of Emporia; sister, Kathy Cisneros of Emporia; and grandchildren, Keagan Hinrichs, Marianne Hinrichs, Brayden Hinrichs, Jaylon Hinrichs, Anneleise Richard, Nikki Crank, Isabella Crank, Destiny Harvey, Prem Patwary, Tayla Nelson, and Aaron Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ricky Hinrichs; sister, Judy Hinrichs; and a grandson, Chase Nelson.

Larry worked in distribution for Classic Vending in Emporia. Prior to that, he had worked for 23 years in processing at Iowa Beef Processors, and 7 years for Bluestem Vending, both of Emporia. Larry was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Emporia. He regularly played poker at the V.F.W. and was an avid sports fan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Emporia. Pastor Norbert Tegtmeier will be officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, west of Olpe, Kansas.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia.

Memorial contributions to Messiah Lutheran Church may be sent in care of the funeral home.
