Larry Victor Krom Sr.

Larry Victor Krom Sr., Americus, Kansas, died December 1, 2023 at his home. He was 80 years old.

Larry was born in Emporia, Kansas, on May 29, 1943, the son of Clarence Krom and Audrey Slack. He married Delores Duesler in December of 1963. They later divorced. Larry then married Joyce M. Coop-Richard on May 25, 1973. Joyce passed on April 4, 2007.

Survivors include sons Larry Victor Krom Jr., Americus, KS; Damon Krom, Emporia, KS; Brady Krom, Emporia, KS; Rick (Carmen) Richard, Clovis, NM; Mike (Dolly) Richard, Mayetta, KS; daughters Wanda (Jesus) Lara, Americus, KS; Angela Krom Reetz, Westchester, IL; sister Joyce Krom Williams; care givers Carl and Tina Terp, Americus, KS; and multiple grandchildren.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and son Doug Richard.

After graduating high school, Larry joined the United States Navy. After that, he worked in construction, Dolly Madison, and was a custodian for unified school district #253. He retired in 2006.

Larry enjoyed fishing, making knives, and wood carving. God gave him the gift of being very artistic, and he had the ability to make the most beautiful carvings.

Cremation is planned, with services at a later date. Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
