Larry Dean Morgan of Emporia died on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Holiday Resort Care Center. He was 75. Larry was born on May 3, 1943 in Cedar Point, Kansas the son of Edgar Lee and Esther Baker Morgan. He married Carolyn Price Dobson on January 30, 1976 in Council Grove, Kansas. She died on October 16, 2001 in Topeka, Kansas. Larry later married Carol Morfitt on June 10, 2005 and later divorced.
Surviving family members include: Step-son, Kevin Dobson and wife Dana of Emporia; step-daughter, Kimberly Burrus and husband Clifton of Granbury, Texas; brother, Ronald J. Morgan and wife Sandy of Emporia; sisters, Debbie Morgan-Allen of Camdenton, Missouri, and Penny Morgan of Emporia; thirteen step-grandchildren, and numerous great-step-grandchildren; two nieces and three nephews; ten great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Carolyn, step-son Keith Dobson, and one grandson.
Larry lived and worked as a brakeman and conductor for the Santa Fe Railroad for 35 years. He served in the United States Marine Corp and was a member of the Ball-McColm Post #5 American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2587, Emporia.
Larry bequeathed his body to the University of Kansas Medical Center. Private service will be held later. Memorial contributions to Sertoma Miniature Train Fund or the Emporia Friends of the Zoo can be sent in care of the funeral home.
